Art takes effort, each detail and portion of the artwork has a purpose. The message embedded in an artwork is what makes each individual piece have its own personality. This process begins with a topic (an idea), of what category the art will be a part of. It then moves to the next step, of creating a theme that briefly explains the “what” of the topic. After developing a theme, the artist must think of how to incorporate it in their artwork, such as adding specific objects or using specific colors. The final step is to consider what the public would see in your art, the topic, theme, and subjects that you added into your artwork to create an overall statement for others to see. Artworks can be connected, a series of artwork, known as a body of work. Each work is similar through some way: message, size, medium, style, etc., creating unity and harmony throughout the set.
